“Hitching [computer science] research to someone else’s problems, and solving those problems in the owners’ terms, leads to richer computer science research” said Fred Brooks in 1996. In this talk I will present my lab’s work in building computational tools for science, and show several examples of successful, close collaboration between our group and life sciences.
