Description: This course offers an introduction to the fundamentals of the finite element method (FEM) for the solution of boundary value problems in continuum and structural mechanics. Topics will cover the mathematical foundation of FEM, with particular emphasis on the weak-form Galerkin approach, as well as practical aspects for numerical implementation and use of FEM software packages.
